REACH PEOPLE

GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,  TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. AND BEHOLD, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, TO THE END OF THE AGE.”

MATTHEW 28:19-20

LOCAL AND GLOBAL MISSIONS

The third leg of our discipleship journey at Calvary leads us to “Reach People.” We recognize that reaching this stage does not mark our “arrival,”  but rather is characteristic of the response of worshipers of Christ as they continue to grow in a love relationship with Him.  Click below for opportunities to serve both locally and globally.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN

TO REACH PEOPLE?

WE REACH PEOPLE BY BECOMING MORE LIKE JESUS AS WE LEARN,

APPLY AND GROW IN THESE DISCIPLINES OF THE FAITH.

V

gospel focused

Reaching people with the gospel of Christ for His glory alone means you must share the gospel, which is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. It is the person, plan and provision of God for all who will believe and turn from their sin and receive Christ as the personal Lord and Savior. No mere religious discussion has the power to save sinners. Only the gospel can set captives free!

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Romans 1: 16

GOSPEL LIFE

As you make choices that are consistent with the word of God and the life of Christ you will have the passion and awareness to make Jesus known to people everywhere. Unholy lifestyles produce little fruit in the life of a believer. We must appropriate the righteousness of Christ, by faith each day.

Ephesians 6:14

1 Peter 1:13-21

SELF-DENIAL

Sometimes God calls us away from our home region to share the gospel during short term trips and even for long durations of time. He often will place us in areas that demand us to deny self and follow Him. One trait of a disciple that God develops in us as we by faith attempt to reach people is the ability to sacrifice perceived comforts, rights and privileges for the furtherance of the Gospel.

1 Corinthians 9: 19-27

boldness to share

Sharing the Gospel with others demands courage and boldness that only comes from Christ. You should ask God daily for His strength to be made perfect in your weakness and grant you the ability to confidently share how the gospel has changed your life.

Acts 4:23-31

Disciple converts

Follow through is key in faithfully making disciples. You must follow through after a person you have been praying for and witnessing to has trusted Christ as the Lord of their life. Teaching them how to walk and develop as a believer is essential in them becoming a lifelong follower of Jesus. You should teach them, love them and walk with them until they love God, grow together and reach people.

Matthew 28:19-20

non-prejudice

To engage people with the gospel who are not like us we must die to cultural and racial prejudices that naturally affect all of us. This builds upon loving people unconditionally and is a picture of God’s grace at work in us.

Acts 11:19-24
